Retention (water) : ΠThat part of the precipitation falling on a drainage area which does not escape as surface stream flow during a given period. It is the difference between total precipitation and total runoff during the period, and represents evaporation, transpiration, subsurface leakage, infiltration, and, when short periods are considered, temporary surface or underground storage on the area. The delay or holding of the flow of water and watercarried wastes in a pipe system. This can be due to a restriction in the pipe, a stoppage or a dip. Also, the time water is held or stored in a basin or wet well. This is also called DETENTION.
Absorpotion (soil) : The taking in or soaking up of one substance into the body of another by molecular or chemical action (as tree roots absorb dissolved nutrients in the soil).
OTOMASYON : Türlü endüstriyel, yönetimsel ve bilimsel işlerin insan aracılığı olmadan ya da çok az insanla otomatik olarak yürütülmesi.
Oturma: Bir yapının, altındaki zeminin hareketi veya sıkışması dolası ile aşağı doğru hareketi. Yapının çeşitli bölümlerindeki oturmalar çok farklı olmadıkça bu tehlikeli olmaz.büyük yapılardaki genleşme derzleri,oturmadan meydana gelebilecek tehlikeyi ortadan kaldırmakta da yararlı olurlar.
