Nutrient (water) : Any substance that is assimilated (taken in) by organisms and promotes growth. Nitrogen and phosphorus are nutrients which promote the growth of algae. There are other essential and trace elements which are also considered nutrients.
Anaerobic Decomposition (water) : The decay or breaking down of organic material in an environment containing no "free" or dissolved oxygen.
