Septic Tank Effluent Filter (STEF) System (water) : A facility where effluent flows from a septic tank into a gravity flow collection system which flows to a gravity sewer, treatment plant or subsurface leaching system. The gravity flow pipeline is called an effluent drain.
Force Main (water) : A pipe that carries wastewater under pressure from the discharge side of a pump to a point of gravity flow downstream.
