Littoral Zone (water) : ΠThat portion of a body of fresh water extending from the shoreline lakeward to the limit of occupancy of rooted plants. The strip of land along the shoreline between the high and low water levels.
Well Protection Area (water) : The surface and subsurface area surrounding a water well or well field, supplying a public water system, through which contaminants are reasonably likely to move toward and reach such water well or well field. Also see WELL ISOLATION ZONE.
