Alluvial (water) : Relating to mud and/or sand deposited by flowing water. Alluvial deposits may occur after a heavy rainstorm.
Hydrostatic System (water) : In a hydrostatic sludge removal system, the surface of the water in the clarifier is higher than the surface of the water in the sludge well or hopper. This difference in pressure head forces sludge from the bottom of the clarifier to flow through pipes to the sludge well or hopper.
