Chromium (water) : A hard, brittle metallic element often used in metal alloys and as a corrosionresistant surface coating for metal parts. Chromium is an especially toxic metal, with hexavalent chromium being appreciably more toxic than trivalent chromium. Volatile Matter (water) : Matter in water, wastewater, or other liquids that is lost on ignition of the dry solids at 550°C.
