C O D (water) : Chemical Oxygen Demand. A measure of the oxygenconsuming capacity of organic matter present in wastewater. COD is expressed as the amount of oxygen consumed from a chemical oxidant in mg/L during a specific test. Results are not necessarily related to the biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) because the chemical oxidant may react with substances that bacteria do not stabilize.
Rotary Pump (water) : A type of displacement pump consisting essentially of elements rotating in a pump case which they closely fit. The rotation of these elements alternately draws in and discharges the water being pumped. Such pumps act with neither suction nor discharge valves, operate at almost any speed, and do not depend on centrifugal forces to lift the water.
ESKALASYON : Yüksek enflasyon nedeniyle girdi fiyatlarında görülen hızlı artışların sabit birim fiyatlarla ihalenin gerçekleştirilmesini engellediği için başvurulan bir yol. Eskalasyon fiyat farkı anlamında kullanılmaktadır.
Kraft kağıdı: Yapılarda ısı geçirimsizliğini şiltelerinin üzerinde kaplama gereci olarak kullanılan dayanıklı kağıt; çimento torbası yapılan kağıt.
