Facultative Pond (water) : The most common type of pond in current use.The upper portion (supernatant) is aerobic, while the bottom layeris anaerobic. Algae supply most of the oxygen to the supernatant.
Backflusing (water) : A procedure used to wash settled waste matter off upstream structures to prevent odors from developing after a main line stoppage has been cleared.
