Colloids (water) : Very small, finely divided solids (particles that do not dissolve) that remain dispersed in a liquid for a long time due to their small size and electrical charge. When most of the particles in water have a negative electrical charge, they tend to repel each other. This repulsion prevents the particles from clumping together, becoming heavier, and settling out.
Septic Tank Effluent Filter (STEF) System (water) : A facility where effluent flows from a septic tank into a gravity flow collection system which flows to a gravity sewer, treatment plant or subsurface leaching system. The gravity flow pipeline is called an effluent drain.
Sıcak Karışım Asfalt Kaplama : Kaba ve ince agreganın bitümlü bağlayıcılarla ( asfaltla ) özel asfalt hazırlama tesisinde karıştırılarak hazırlanıp, sıcak olarak uygulanmasına denir. Kalitelidir ve yoğun trafikte olan yollar da uygulanır.
Kiriş-plak sistemi: Betonarme kirişler aracılıyla taşınan betonarme döşeme sistemi,kirişli döşeme sistemi. Bu sistem geniş açıklıklar için kullanılan en eski döşeme sistemidir, ancak tavanda kirişlerin sarkması nedeniyle esnek planlamayı güçleştirmektedir.
