Chromium (water) : A hard, brittle metallic element often used in metal alloys and as a corrosionresistant surface coating for metal parts. Chromium is an especially toxic metal, with hexavalent chromium being appreciably more toxic than trivalent chromium. Slake (water) : To mix with water so that a true chemical combination (hydration) takes place, such as in the slaking of lime.
