Hydraulic Grade Line (HGL) (water) : The surface or profile of water flowing in an open channel or a pipe flowing partially full. If a pipe is under pressure, the hydraulic grade line is at the level water would rise to in a small vertical tube connected to the pipe. Also see ENERGY GRADE LINE.
Oxidation Ditch (water) : The oxidation ditch is a modified form of the activated sludge process. The ditch consists of two channels placed side by side and connected at the ends to produce one continuous loop of wastewater flow and a brush rotator assembly placed across the channel to provide aeration and circulation.

Polistiren: Strienden polimerleşen, 60-80°C yumuşayan, 145°C kaynayan bir plastik. Bu sakıncasına karşın dış ülkelerde özellikle saydam bölme yapımında cam tuğla gibi kullanılmaktadır. Polistiren, soğuk su borusu yapımında da kullanılmıştır.polistiren, mor ötesi ışınlarının etkisi ile sararır.
