Gage Pressure (water) : The pressure within a closed container or pipe as measured with a gage. In contrast, absolute pressure is the sum of atmospheric pressure (14.7 lbs/sq in) PLUS pressure within a vessel (as measured with a gage). Most pressure gages read in "gage pressure" or psig (pounds per square inch gage pressure).
Header (water) : A large pipe to which a series of smaller pipes are connected. Also called a MANIFOLD.
