Thrust Block (water) : A mass of concrete or similar material appropriately placed around a pipe to prevent movement when the pipe is carrying water. Usually placed at bends and valve structures.
Saddle (water) : A fitting mounted on a pipe for attaching a new connection. This device makes a tight seal against the main pipe by use of a clamp, adhesive, or gasket and prevents the service pipe from protruding into the main.

Bağ kirişi: Düşey yüklemeye karşı çalışmayıp çekmeye çalışan ve elamanları konstrüktif olarak bağlayan betonarme kiriş. Bağ kirişi uzun nervürlü döşemelerde ve temellerde olur. Temellerde kullanılan bağ kirişlerine deprem (yada zelzele) kirişi adı da verilir.
