Evapotranspiration (water) : ΠThe process by which water vapor passes into the atmosphere from living plants. Also called TRANSPIRATION. The total water removed from an area by transpiration (plants) and by evaporation from soil, snow and water surfaces.
Dampness (const) : Condition of being slightly wet: usually not so wet that liquid water is evident, eg. wetness caused by condensation on a porous substrate or water transmitted up a porous wall by capillarity
