Anoxic (water) : Oxygen deficient or lacking sufficient oxygen.
Backfill (soil) : ΠMaterial used to fill in a trench or excavation. The act of filling a trench or excavation, usually after a pipe or some type of structure has been placed in the trench or excavation.
