Grit Trap (water) : A permanent structure built into a manhole (or other convenient location in a collection system) for the accumulation and easy removal of grit.
Commercial Contribution (water) : Liquid and liquidcarried wastes dumped by commercial establishments into the wastewater collection system. Used in this context, commercial contributions are distinct from domestic and industrial sources of wastewater contributions. Examples of highyield commercial sources are laundries, restaurants and hotels.
