Suspended Growth Process (water) : Wastewater treatment processes in which the microorganisms and bacteria treating the wastes are suspended in the wastewater being treated. The wastes flow around and through the suspended growths. The various modes of the activated sludge process make use of suspended growth reactors. These reactors can be used for BOD removal, nitrification and denitrification.
Dead End (water) : The end of a water main which is not connected to other parts of the distribution system by means of a connecting loop of pipe.
Sıcak Karışım Asfalt Kaplama : Kaba ve ince agreganın bitümlü bağlayıcılarla ( asfaltla ) özel asfalt hazırlama tesisinde karıştırılarak hazırlanıp, sıcak olarak uygulanmasına denir. Kalitelidir ve yoğun trafikte olan yollar da uygulanır.
Alın tahtası: Bir ahşap saçakta merteklerin uçlarını birleştiren, yani saçağın alnına boydan boya yerleştirilen tahta.
